What is unfair is that he was getting a salary meanwhile his rookie pay-driver teammates were extracting more potential from the car than he could.

So before the team offered him such an iron clad contract, they should have known that he was not a top tier driver. So he didn't deserve such exclusive treatment. The team could have had Dambrosio and digrassi driving for them and with money coming in to help out with development. Both of them have beaten Glock.
