There will be no new faces on Pirelli's testing strength in 2013, and no new car with which to run its tyres, according to Paul Hembery.

To say that open competition is responsible for Michelin's dangerous tires at Indy is misdirected. It's well documented that Michelin failed to test the tires they brought to the race at Indy prior to the race. This is a procedural error and not due to being in competition with Bridgestone. It is an interesting supposition that tiremakers intentionally bring dangerous tires to the races because of open competition though. Wouldn't that mean that the teams bring dangerous cars to the races for the same reason?
