Historically being a British driver is a massive advantage in F1.
Button Hill Lewis DC all had there first drives in the fastest cars on the grid ,,no working through the back of the grid for them...though l will say Lewis is the real deal.
British team owners ( which is the major part of the grid) love having British drivers....even a soft driver in the best car can win wdc, was clearly Frank's ideology.
Few that spring to mind in my watching years are Hill, Button Hunt.
Soft British drivers in British teams???? way too many to mention..
