@michael fornarina, when you're taking these kind of risks you want to be in a position to win, or at least be competitive. After 13 years the last thing Button wants is to is to toil around in the mid field, he's been there, done that, got the t-shirt. This poor decision by McLaren to go for such a radical re-design this year might have re-percussions over the next few years, if stories they are having to divert resources to sort out this years problems are true. Button is a nice guy but you don't get to this level of sport without some steel and determination as well.
