They just wasted a few years going with the same strategy Fernandes used at QPR...You hire a bunch of 'big' names to come work for your new upstart but especially in sports the only reason they come to you is because nobody else is willing to pay them what you are willing to pay them anymore...and that should tip you off right there that maybe they're not worth it.

Fernandes seems more interested in buying legitimacy than actually having a shot of moving up the ladder. With a bunch of washed up names (Kova, Trulli, Gascoyne) the upside potential was zero. Who knows what would have happened if they brought in at least one paydriver right away and spend the money on an at the time upcoming designer like James Key and give him free reign...
