Grumpiness has nothing to do with it. He can drive. So far, SFi haven't got very good offers. Van der Garde, but they don't need anymore money. Maldonado, same reason. They had Hulkenberg, but that's looking very, very slim right now, almost impossible, unless Quantum decides not to do the deal. I'd be worried about Calado, who proved his worth in GP2. Another possible outcome could be that they (fingers crossed) pull a stunt and bring back Kobayashi, Petrov, Kovalainen, etc.
Honestly, di Resta's their best bet at the moment.
