Max, As I'm sure you know normally if pole is on the left the driver will position his car pointing more to the right to cover the guy in second, I can only think Lulu was more concerned with Rosberg in third than Ricciardo in 2nd and that's why he was positioned to the left.

And all of that suggests to me that they (Merc, Lulu) weren't convinced that the engines problem was terminal from the start, no point trying to defend from pole if you know the car is fooked.
