Force India has released the first images if it's new 2009 Formula One machine ahead of its first public appearance on track tomorrow [Sunday] at Jerez.
The VJM02 will be Force India's first Mercedes-powered car following the link up with McLaren Mercedes over the winter with the team also benefitting from the use of a new gearbox and the KERS system through the deal.
Adrian Sutil completed a shakedown of the car at Silverstone earlier this week prior to its first 'proper' test with team hopeful it will lead to an upturn in fortunes after a trying 2008 campaign that saw Force India end the season bottom of the standings after failing to score a point.
It led to a restructuring of the back-room staff, as both Mike Gascoyne and Colin Kolles were released from their contracts at the end of 2008 to allow owner Vijay Mallya to take greater control of proceedings.
Primary backing on the new car once again comes from Mallya's Kingfisher brand, while the Indian national colours provide the colour-scheme for the car that will be raced by Giancarlo Fisichella and Sutil again this season.
