Scuderia Toro Rosso is set to conduct the first test of its 2009 Formula 1 contender this week, albeit away from the prying eyes of the world's media.

The team has so far only tested with a hybrid version of the STR3 that was raced in 2008, but will now roll out its new car, expected to be called STR4 and based on 'parent' outfit Red Bull Racing's promising RB5, during a private test session at Adria in Northern Italy.

The team, which will enter the 2009 season with a revised driver line-up of the returning S?bastien Bourdais and GP2 Series graduate S?bastien Buemi, will reveal the Ferrari-powered machine to the press on Monday ahead of the group test in Barcelona.

Aside from the soon-to-be re-named Honda concern, STR is the last squad to unveil its challenger for the season ahead - albeit considerably earlier than it did last year.

Swiss ace Buemi - likely to be the only rookie on the grid in 2009 - will be the driver assigned to shake down the car.
