Brawn GP stunned the Formula 1 community with its one-two finish in the 2009 curtain-raising Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne at the weekend, with Jenson Button sealing a lights-to-flag victory and Rubens Barrichello battling back from a number of on-track clashes to back his team-mate up in second place.

That proved that the ex-Honda outfit's scintillating winter testing pace had been no flash in the pan, and that the combination of having begun development of its 2009 challenger earlier than any other team and now benefitting from Mercedes-Benz power and the top flight's new regulations had played right into the Brackley-based concern's hands.

Whilst the squad is once again amongst the favourites for the Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepang next on the calendar, there are fears that should more money not be forthcoming then the development pace of the BGP 001 will not be able to keep up with that of its rivals, and Brawn GP will gradually fall away from the front of the grid.

For now, though, the team is content simply to lap up the spotlight and grab the glory - so have your say by clicking here
