Such has been the demand for 'early bird' tickets ahead of the second Singapore Grand Prix that additional seats have been made available for the offer after grandstands began selling out.

Nearly two weeks after the initial launch of tickets for the 2009 race, the advance sales figures continue to highlight the event's popularity. The 'early bird' release concept has proved a attractive one for fans, with up to half of the available allotment of grandstand seats and walkabout passes on offer at reduced prices.

The 50 per cent of available inventory allotted to 'early bird' tickets for the Esplanade Waterfront Grandstand are now sold out, leaving only those at the regular rate of S$598 on offer for the prime site, while recent sales trends suggest that the three-day 'early bird season walkabout' - as well as Saturday and Sunday single day 'early bird walkabout' - tickets will be sold out by next week.

Tickets for the Connaught Grandstand also continue to sell quickly, prompting organisers to make 750 additional seats available and to meet the strong demand from fans eager to attend the second night race in F1 history.

Tickets for the Turn 3 and Bay grandstands, as well as the single-day and three-day walkabout tickets, were released for sale last Monday.
