Lola has confirmed that its entry for the next season's Formula One World Championship has been lodged with the FIA ahead of the deadline for entries for 2010.

The company hasn't appeared on the Formula One grid for more than ten years, but was quick to confirm its interest in a return the FIA announced that it was looking to bring a budget cap into the sport.

Having evaluated the proposals further, the Huntingdon-based company then confirmed it was to push ahead with its entry and duly lodged its entry with the FIA on deadline day, although there was no further comment to be made prior to the governing body publically revealing the teams to have secured a slot on the grid.

That announcement is due to be made on 12 June.

"We submitted our entry this morning as we said we would," a Lola spokesperson revealed, "but we don't want to add anything further at this stage.

"We hope to tell you much more on 12 June."
