McLaren title winner joins historic collection

McLaren's new MP4-24 may have endured a difficult season to date, but the car it replaced – the MP4-23 – will always go down in history as the car which helped Lewis Hamilton lift his maiden Formula One title.

The MP4-23 carried Hamilton to five wins in 2008 before the dramatic Brazilian Grand Prix – where the Briton stole the title from the grasps of Felipe Massa with his pass on Timo Glock at the final corner.

Hamilton's title winning machine had now joined the collection of famous machines at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, lining up alongside iconic machinery dating all the way back to 1934.
