The FIA has announced that the International Court of Appeal will meet on August 17 to discuss Renault's appeal into its exclusion from the European Grand Prix.

The appeal was lodged on behalf of the team by the FFSA after Renault was barred from competing in Valencia as punishment for the incident which saw Fernando Alonso lose a wheel from the his car following his opening pit-stop in Hungary.

The team was found to have released Alonso from the pits knowing that his front-right wheel wasn't properly secured and then failed to inform the Spaniard - with the result that the wheel became detached as he made his way back round to the pits.

Renault appealed against the decision, which would see Alonso miss his home race, with the Court of Appeal due to reveal its findings on 18 August - a day after the hearing takes place.
