Vatanen reveals cabinet members

Former WRC title winner Ari Vatanen has revealed the cabinet members who will back him in his drive to succeed Max Mosley as the president of the FIA.

The Finn is set to go up against former Ferrari team principal Jean Todt in an attempt to secure the role, with the presidential election due to take place at the FIA General Assembly in October.

Vatanen has named German Hermann Tomczyk as his preferred deputy president for sport, Spaniard Fernando Falco y Fernandez de Cordova as his candidate to become the president of the FIA senate, and Bernard Tay from Singapore as his nominee for the office of deputy president for mobility.

“These cabinet members all have a long and proven track record in the FIA and in their respective countries,” he said. “Together with them, we can bring about the necessary changes to make the FIA more transparent, more efficient and more effective and to increase the benefit for its members.

“Now, it is time for change and together we can achieve this!”

Todt announced his proposed cabinent last month.
