Barrichello wins European Grand Prix

Brawn GP's Rubens Barrichello came through to take an emotional win at the European Grand Prix on Sunday.

Barrichello trailed the McLaren's of Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen early on, before jumping the latter in the first stops and then the former in the second stop to take the lead. The Brazilian eventually took the victory by 2.4 seconds.

Hamilton meanwhile had to settle for the runners-up spot, in part due to a botched second pit stop when he came in and was slightly delayed as his tyres were not ready.

Kimi Raikonen took the final spot on the podium for Ferrari, followed by Kovalainen, who was just ahead of Nico Rosberg's Williams.

Fernando Alonso rounded out the top six, with championship leader Jenson Button a disappointing seventh after a poor start.

Robert Kubica took the final point in eighth, with Mark Webber and Adrian Sutil ninth and tenth respectively.

Full report and result to follow soon...

Great result in the end. Lovely to see Rubens winning again. It said alot that pretty much the whole pitlane gave him a standing ovation. Pity for Hamilton with the pitstop, but these things happen. Even so, that image of his old man when the pitstop went wrong - classic!! Talk about a face like a bulldog licking p*** off a stinging nettle!
