Britain's Jenson Button remains top in the battle for the 2009 F1 drivers' championship, but Rubens Barrichello closes the gap after winning the Italian GP and finishing one spot in front of the Englishman.
Button now has 80 points, while Barrichello is 14 adrift. Sebastian Vettel meanwhile remains third, but after having only added one point to his tally, slips further behind Button and Barrichello – 12 points off the latter.
In the Constructors' championship, Brawn Grand Prix increases its cushion over Red Bull Racing from 23.5 points to 40.5 with four races to go.
