Recently crowned GP2 champion Nico Hulkenberg has confirmed that he expects to make the move to F1 for 2010, as rumours of a race seat at Williams grow.
"I hope and think so," Hulkenberg told Germany's Sport Bild
when asked if he will be on the F1 grid next season.
He added: “I feel very good with Williams and would gladly stay there.”
Already a Williams test driver, the British team has an option on the 22-year-old German for next season, although his manager Willi Weber insisted they are not the only team interested.
"We are negotiating with several teams," Weber told German news agency DPA
. "Williams has an option."
A decision on Hulkenberg's F1 future could come in the next few weeks.
