The second practice session for the Japanese Grand Prix is currently a hive of inactivity as persistent rain has made running all but impossible at Suzuka.

Although a handful of drivers have completed exploratory laps, rivers running across the track and down the pit-lane have rendered attempts to work on set-up and acquire further data worthless, with the 90 minutes unlikely to see any meaningful action.

Heikki Kovalainen was fastest in the opening session, which saw the track start wet and dry slightly, and looks set to head combined session times for Friday.
