Heavy rain at Interlagos has forced officials to delay the start of the final free practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Rain started to fall at the circuit roughly half an hour before the session was due to start, leaving some areas of the circuit affected by rivers of water and grounding the medical helicopter.

As yet, only the safety and medical cars have taken to the track to complete a lap.

Even when the session does go green, the conditions are likely to ensure there will only be minimal running from the teams.

"You wouldn't send a duck out in this," former team boss Eddie Jordan told BBC Sport.

While the rain has eased, further heavy showers are expected to arrive shortly and as a result, no start time has yet been given for the session to get underway.
