Alonso makes first Ferrari visit

Fernando Alonso visits Maranello as he prepares to make the switch to Ferrari for the 2010 F1 season
Fernando Alonso has paid his first visit to Maranello since being named as part of the Ferrari driver line-up for the 2010 F1 season.

The Spaniard, who will partner Felipe Massa next year, made the trip to Italy with the blessing of Renault, despite his current contract tying him to the Enstone-based squad until the end of 2009.

Alonso took time to meet team principal Stefano Domenicali and a number of the team's engineers, before visiting the Ferrari wind tunnel to view a model of the 2010 car and working on his seat position for the new season. The Spaniard also held a brief meeting with Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo, who welcomed the double champion into the team.

While F1's testing ban will prevent Alonso from getting behind the wheel of his new car until February, he did get chance to sample the Fiorano test circuit for the first time at the wheel of a new Ferrari 458 Italia.

But they are irrelevant to the topic. I had a moan about typo's and then matt kindly fixed them.
