1964 F1 World champion John Surtees will become the first person to ever drive a sports car the full length of the Channel Tunnel next week.
Surtees, the only driver to have become world champion on two wheels and four, will pilot the ground-breaking Ginetta G50EV - a stunning electric sports car prototype made by iconic British car marque Ginetta.
It is the first time Eurotunnel has opened its service tunnel to allow a car to drive the full 31 mile length from England to France and it is being done in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the opening of the Tunnel and on the occasion of the 37th annual Burlington Beaujolais Run.
The run, which is also being used to highlight that low carbon travel is now a real option, will take place on Tuesday November 17.
Surtees is due to set off from Folkestone in Kent at 11.15 am and he will then arrive in Coquelles, France at 13.30 [local time].
