Giancarlo Fisichella has revealed that it is 'possible' he will race for Sauber next year.

Fisichella, who moved to Ferrari at the end of last season, when he was drafted in to replace Luca Badoer, will act as the Scuderia's test and reserve driver in 2010, but the Maranello-based outfit has already indicated that they wouldn't be against him racing for one of their rivals.

Indeed Sauber could be a good fit, as not only has Fisichella raced with the squad before, back in 2004, but the team will also use Ferrari power-plants in 2010, something that could help pave the way for the Italian to continue to compete at the pinnacle of the sport.

"I'm happy that they (Sauber) can participate in the Championship (next year)," he told Ferrari's official website while at the Bologna Motor Show. "I would like to be able to collaborate with a team I know and I got on very well with them: together with Ferrari we'll see if that will be possible."

Pressed on if he had any regrets about his move to the Scuderia, especially given that his best result with the F60 was a ninth place, Fisichella insisted that he was happy with his decision to leave the Force India F1 team.

"Regrets for how my adventure went? No, but because I realised my childhood dream," he reiterated. "Ferrari will always remain something really special and you can see it in these occasions, when people's attention is attracted by the red colour, which for me remains a synonym for victory.

"Naturally I hoped and I expected to do better, for me and especially for the team: unfortunately it didn't work out.

"For the future I know for sure that I'm part of the Ferrari family and that I'm the third driver in 2010."
