Ferrari has confirmed that Felipe Massa will get the chance to test a 2007-spec F1 car again 'in the coming days'.

The Brazilian will be hit the track at Mugello at the wheel of an F2007 fitted with 'demonstration run' tyres, with the car again provided by the Corse Clienti department.

With variable weather conditions expected in the region, the exact date of the test has yet to be decided.

"I wanted to jump into a Formula 1 car before the end of the year, so I made the most of being in Maranello to do it," Massa said. "I would like to thank Ferrari for having giving me this present."

Massa has previously tested the F2007 as he continues to recover from the injuries he sustained in Hungary, while the Brazilian also drove the current F60 during the Ferrari World Finals in Valencia.

Speaking at Ferrari's end of year festivities at Maranello, Massa also took time to thank Ferrari and its supporters for the backing shown following his accident at the Hungaroring, which could have seen his career brought to an early end.

"I want to thank each one of you for your support after the accident," he said. "What happened to me this year was unbelievable and I took so much strength from you to recover as quickly as possible. The heartfelt warmth I felt from Ferrari is something I will never ever forget as long as I live. I assure you that my determination to get back on track and to win has never been this strong!"
