Kobayashi to Sauber?

Kamui Kobayashi will compete in the 2010 FIA F1 World Championship having inked a deal with Sauber, it is being reported.
Kamui Kobayashi will compete with the Sauber team in F1 2010, it has been reported.

Although there has been no official statement from the Swiss-based outfit, Finnish newspaper, Turun Sanomat alleges that a deal has been reached for next season, but that there will be no confirmation until Peter Sauber has also signed his team-mate.

Kobayashi had been expected to drive for Toyota in 2010, until the Japanese manufacturer pulled the plug on its F1 programme.

The 23-year-old, who impressed many in the paddock when he stood in for the injured Timo Glock in Brazil and Abu Dhabi, has also been linked to Renault.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, Kobayashi has been voted sixth in your poll for the top driver of the 2009 season [see separate story – click here].

More to follow as and when we get it...

I agree with Doogin too. Its his erratic driving that makes him exciting and fresh, he will find the right balance soon enough, but I do admire his "do or die" style. Certainly rattles cages thats for sure.
