Abu Dhabi delighted with F1 honour

'Best F1 Race Promoter 2009' awarded to Yas Marina Circuit for its inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The Yas Hotel will be home to a trophy recently awarded to Yas Marina Circuit by the FIA, F1's governing body.

At the annual FIA Gala held in Monaco last week, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was named the 2009 'Race Promoter of the Year'.

"We are grateful to the many people and organisations in our community who helped deliver this world-class project," said His Excellency Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of Yas Marina Circuit. "So it is quite fitting that we continue to celebrate this success with the trophy on permanent display at the Yas Hotel where everyone can still feel part of this very significant achievement."

The award not only acknowledged the spectacular setting of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but the promotion of the first ever twilight race.

Abu Dhabi will now return in 2010, when it will again host the season finale, currently set for November 14.
