Toro Rosso team boss Franz Tost has played down talk linked the Faenza-based squad with a move for Ralf Schumacher as 'nonsense'.
Following the news that older brother Michael is to make an F1 comeback with Mercedes, Schumacher revealed that he had turned down the chance to join one of the four new teams on the grid but was still keen to return to the sport himself.
Speculation had linked the German with Toro Rosso, Renault and Sauber but Tost insisted that his team wasn't in talks with the DTM racer about a deal.
“I don't know anything about it,” he told Auto Motor und Sport
, “there is nothing to it.
“For me, it is all nonsense and I have nothing more to say about it.”
Toro Rosso has already confirmed Sebastien Buemi will return for a second season in 2010, with Spanish youngster Jaime Alguersuari expected to remain as his team-mate having been promoted into a race seat midway through 2009.
