Scuderia Toro Rosso set to swoop for Bruno Senna should Campos Meta 1 fail to make the grid for F1 2010.
Bruno Senna may end up racing for Scuderia
Toro Rosso in F1 2010, according to the latest speculation.
Bruno, the nephew of the late Ayrton Senna, inked a deal with 2010 F1 newcomer Campos Meta 1 back in October. Reports in Italy in
Corriere dello Sport and
Tuttosport note that Brazilian sources say
Toro Rosso has the 'right' to sign Senna should Campos Meta 1 fail to make the grid.
To date
Toro Rosso has only confirmed one of its drivers for the new season, namely Sebastien Buemi. Furthermore while
Jaime Alguersuari is believed to be the favourite to get the nod to drive the other STR car, he has yet to get the official okay.
Meanwhile Mirko Bortolotti, who tested for
Toro Rosso during the young driver test at
Jerez at end of last year, and who was linked to the team recently, has now apparently been dropped by Red Bull.
The Formula Two race winner was apart of Red Bull's young driver programme last year, but he has not yet been listed for 2010.
More to follow as and when it develops...
