Fernando Alonso says he is confident that Ferrari will provide him with the opportunity to fight for a third F1 title in 2010.

Alonso, who took back-to-back titles with Renault in 2005 and 2006, will join the Scuderia for the new season alongside Felipe Massa and got the first glimpse of the car he will drive in 2010 on his latest visit to the factory in Maranello.

The Spaniard then took part in a live webchat with fans on Ferrari's official website and revealed that work was almost complete on the car he hopes will take him to the title.

"It's almost ready. I'm here in Maranello today to prepare the seat and other things connected to the debut on the track. I think that the Ferrari will be competitive and I really hope to bring the drivers' title here to Maranello."

Alonso and Massa will be keen to take Ferrari back to winning ways after a challenging 2009 campaign which yielded just one victory - for Kimi Raikkonen at Spa - but Alonso insisted that three teams in particular would ensure 2010 is far from easy.

"The ideal would be if my fiercest competitor was Felipe: that would mean that we're the best team," he replied when asked who his main rival will be this season, "although I think that McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes will be very competitive and hard to beat."
