Nico Rosberg has revealed that he already feels perfectly comfortable at Mercedes following his debut run in the MGP W01 on Monday at Valencia in Spain.

While many have suggested Rosberg will struggle alongside record-breaking multiple F1 world champion, Michael Schumacher - with Rubens Barrichello joking that his best advice would be to 'get out of there' [see separate story - click here] - the 24-year-old remains unfazed.

"For me it's a great thing to race with him," Rosberg told the official F1 website. "It's fantastic. It's probably given me a little extra motivation I must say. Just that little extra touch, which is a good thing!

"My first impression of the car is very positive. It felt very good, although it is difficult to compare because there are so many things different with the fuel, the tyres, the fuel level you are running in testing and I haven't been running on this track for a long time, so it is very difficult to compare it to previous years."

Pressed on if it felt different being in the Mercedes MGP W01 after four years with a Williams, Rosberg was adamant it wasn't all that unusual.

"That was the question I was asking myself. After four years with one car, with the same people always building it, does the new car feel different? Do you feel comfortable right from the start or not? To be honest it felt very similar," he continued.

"From the position I was sitting in, to the way the steering feels, and to the power from the engine, everything is different, but strangely I felt at home almost instantly and it was quite similar to what I am used to."

Rosberg finished the first day fourth on the timesheets, his best a 1m 13.543s, and despite being around six tenths off Schumacher, he was not unhappy.

"I've integrated into the team really well. It has been surprisingly easy and everything is falling into place quite nicely," he summed-up.
