Cosworth has declared itself happy with the results of pre-season testing after its engines completed more than 11,000km of running in Spain.

The tests at Valencia, Jerez and Barcelona saw Williams, Lotus and Virgin all hit the track with the new Cosworth CA2010 V8 engine, with the motor running quickly and reliably during the three tests.

Both Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hulkenberg led the way at some point during testing for Williams, while Lotus and Virgin focused on putting miles on their new cars, and Cosworth's Mark Gallagher said he was pleased with how all three teams had worked with the engine supplier during the off-season.

"The Barcelona test brought to a satisfactory conclusion Cosworth's pre-season testing activities," he said. "Our overall targets having been met with a particular emphasis on proving the durability of the CA2010 and developing solid working relationships with each of our customer teams. These were pivotal weeks for us, and it is of great credit to our design, development, manufacturing, build, test and track support staff that our return to the F1 circuit has started positively.

"There is much work to come, of course, and busy days ahead of us as we prepare with our teams for the Bahrain Grand Prix."
