Pirelli has confirmed that it will present an offer to the FIA and F1 teams with a view to supplying tyres for the 2011 season.

Following comments from Williams technical director Sam Michael that revealed that the Formula One Teams Association was set to choose between Michelin and Cooper Avon, [See HERE] Pirelli has revealed that it will present a proposal to both the FIA and the teams before the Spanish Grand Prix next weekend with a view to making a return to the sport.

Pirelli was last present in F1 back in 1991.

"Pirelli communicates its decision to present a technical and commercial offer for supply of tyres to all the teams in the Formula 1 world championship," a statement issued by Pirelli read. "The company plans to present the bid to the FIA and Formula One Administration Limited by 9 May, the date of the next Formula 1 Grand Prix to be held in Spain."

Reports suggesting the Pirelli was considering a return first surfaced last week, although those reports suggested that a number of conditions would need to be met - including increasing wheel size to 18 inches and making teams contribute financially to any deal.
