HRT F1's new signing gets an immediate opportunity to make an impression as he will drive a F1 practice session for the first time in four years
Klien to drive HRT in Spanish GP practice
Just a day after confirming Christian Klien as its test and reserve driver for the 2010 Formula 1 season, HRT F1 has revealed it will give the Austrian a Friday test outing at the Spanish Grand Prix.

An F1 mainstay following driver stints with Jaguar and Red Bull, as well as test driver roles with Honda, Spyker, Force India and BMW, the experienced 27-year-old has been signed to the burgeoning team to aid its development process and assist rookie drivers Bruno Senna and Karun Chandhok.

His role will start immediately during free practice around the Circuit de Catalunya where Klien will drive the F110 for the first time during the morning session.

In three seasons of F1 racing, Klien started 46 races, scored 14 points and acquired a best finish of fifth in the 2005 Chinese Grand Prix.

Why Klein?

Aren't there other drivers out there? What about Davidson or even Sato.

I would rate either of those about 1000 times higher than Klein.

Especially Davidson, and he is already at the track doing the BBC 5 Live commentating.
