Bridgestone considering u-turn?

Could Bridgestone change its plans to quit F1 as teams seek a u-turn?
Bridgestone could be considering a u-turn over its decision to walk away from F1 at the end of the season, with the marque's F1 boss Hiroshi Yasukawa admitted that the sport is still important to the company.

Bridgestone's decision to end its F1 involvement following the conclusion of the 2010 season has led to a number of its rivals expressing an interest in filling the void – with Pirelli, Cooper Avon and Michelin amongst those who could be involved from 2011.

However, the competing teams are believed to be keen to keep Bridgestone involved in the sport and have written to the company to try and persuade it to change its decision.

Having admitted that the request was 'an honour', Yasukawa said that F1 remained important to Bridgestone and the company was proud to have the support of the twelve teams.

"We hosted guests from the USA and Brazil as well as many from our European markets which has illustrated the importance of formula one as a business tool," he said in a statement issued during the Spanish GP weekend. "Our sales companies continue to support our formula one activities, showing the significance of this to our business.

"We are proud to have the support of all of the teams in this fantastic sport."

He's me agreeing with Agamemnon of Mycenae in saying "Give me a waaaarrr!!"! F1 is becoming so painfully bland, sterile and repetitive, it is increasingly becoming a darn spec series! Please offer a variation for tires!! F1 should encourage fair and healthy competition!!
