Lewis Hamilton has been charged by police following his incident outside the Australian GP paddock back in March.

The McLaren driver was stopped by police shortly after leaving the paddock after being seen performing a burnout for fans on the side of the street.

His Mercedes was impounded and the Briton apologised for what he called a 'silly' incident.

However, Hamilton has now been charged by police with intentionally losing control of vehicle with a court hearing scheduled for 24 August.

With that date being just days before the Belgian GP at Spa, it remains to be seen if Hamilton will have to appear at the hearing.
