Famous Prost name returns to F1

It was a case of like father, like son at Magny-Cours last weekend, as Nicolas Prost - son of legendary four-time world champion Alain - got his first taste of F1 power at the annual Renault Roadshow
The illustrious Prost name returned to F1 last weekend when Nicolas Prost – son of legendary four-time world champion Alain – followed in his father's wheel tracks as he got behind the wheel of a Renault R29 at Magny-Cours.

Prost – who is currently competing in sportscars following a junior single-seater career that took him as far as A1GP and Spanish F3 – was invited to participate in the annual Renault F1 Roadshow at the Nevers circuit, home to the French Grand Prix from 1991 until 2008.

After taking to the track in the French manufacturer's 2009 grand prix challenger – under the watchful and proud eye of his father – the 28-year-old admitted it was an honour to have been asked to drive an F1 car for the first time.

“It is a fantastic car obviously,” he enthused afterwards. “The acceleration is just incredible, and everything works so smooth.”

andrew. you can only see his eyes. he is as old as alain was, when racing! craig. there can never be any prost v senna battles. but there would be prosts son v sennas nephew battle. there is absolutely no way that you could consider that these new names would ever be as good as their fathers. just look at "senna", who is being shown up by chandhok, who himself, is no great shakes. name alone does not make a driver!
