Renault number one driver Robert Kubica has revealed that he will make a decision about who he drives for in F1 2011 'very soon'.
Kubica has had a brilliant season to date and is currently seventh in the drivers' championship with 73 points in the bag, thanks to a run of seven consecutive points' finishes, including two podiums.
The Pole has recently been linked to a move to Mercedes to replace the struggling Michael Schumacher [see separate story - click here
], and while that is thought to be unlikely, Kubica himself is giving nothing away.
"I don't know. I haven't made my decision yet," Kubica told espnf1.com
. "I am not the kind of person who thinks in three years' time, I am not the kind of person who is thinking in three weeks' time, to be honest. When people started talking in March or April about 2011, I was not even thinking about it.
"What the future will bring we will see. I believe that every single person, everything, has its own time, so timing is very important.
"But I don't think you have to stress the timing too much. Very soon I will have to take my own decisions and then we will see."
Renault F1 team boss Eric Boullier meanwhile has revealed that he is confident they will hang on to their star driver: "We are optimistic," he added in an interview with British newspaper, The Guardian
. "It's nearly done – there is a contract in my suitcase."
