Mark Webber says he is glad to have the chance to return to action quickly following his huge accident in the European Grand Prix.

Webber was launched airbourne over the back of Heikki Kovalainen's Lotus in Valencia and was lucky to escape injury after his car collected an advertising hoarding over the circuit before skidding into the barriers at high-speed.

Barely two weeks later, Webber will return to action this weekend for the British Grand Prix at a new-look Silverstone and the Red Bull man admitted he was glad to have the opportunity to get back behind the wheel as quickly as possible.

"After a set back such as the crash, my advice is to get back on the saddle, or in the car, as soon as possible," the Australian told the Daily Mail. "I'm looking forward to Silverstone and glad it's so soon after Valencia.

"What happened is water under the bridge, but you have to focus on the next time you need to perform, and for me that's driving the car in Silverstone."

Webber added that the accident he suffered last year while out cycling, which left him with a broken leg, had given him a different viewpoint when reflecting on incidents on track.

"What I learned when I broke my leg is that you think you're in a tough situation, but it's nothing compared to what other people have to deal with," he said. "Life's full of ups and downs, but on the tough days be mindful that someone somewhere is having a much tougher day than you.

"It's a case of keeping yourself in check and looking for the next opportunity to bounce back."
