Sebastian Vettel won the intra-team battle with Red Bull colleague Mark Webber to claim the upper hand in a fifth Red Bull Racing front row this season.

The German led the way through the halfway point of the top ten shoot-out, and remained on top after Webber failed to find the time necessary to dislodge him on his final run. Vettel, who will go into race day hoping to defend his 2009 victory, then ensured that no-one else would have a shot - however unlikely - by further lowering his best time to 1min 29.615secs.

Webber will line up on the front row after ending the ten-minute final session seven tenths clear of Red Bull nearest challenger, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, with the Milton Keynes team now heavy favourites for victory after McLaren's expected threat failed to materialise. Lewis Hamilton is the best of the silver cars, claiming fourth back from Mercedes' Nico Rosberg on his final lap, while team-mate Jenson Button failed to make the cut at the end of Q2.

Robert Kubica will start alongside Rosberg, with Felipe Massa, Rubens Barrichello, Pedro de la Rosa and Michael Schumacher completing the top ten.
