Schumacher not happy with Silverstone show

Michael Schumacher disappointed with his ninth place finish at Silverstone
Michael Schumacher returned to the points in the British Grand Prix but was still left frustrated by another below-par showing on his return to F1.

Having failed to score in either Montreal or Valencia, Schumacher was hoping to get his season back on track at Silverstone and the German looked like securing a good slot on the grid after making it through to Q3. However, his pace in the final stage of qualifying was only good enough for tenth place.

While team-mate Nico Rosberg raced to a podium finish in the home race for the Brackley-based team, Schumacher struggled to tenth ninth place and while that saw him pick up points, the seven-time champion was far from pleased.

"Again a race which I am not really happy about today,” he said. “It was ok and seeing Nico on the podium is good for the team but my race was obviously less rewarding. I was in traffic for most of the race and did not really have a clear track.

“After the pit stop where I had to push really hard to make it in front of Rubens, I unfortunately made a mistake out of a slow corner which put me off the track. That cost me a lot of time plus two positions and that was it for today. We now look towards Hockenheim where we obviously will do everything to perform in the best possible way."

Ive been a schumacher fan ever since he was betting the big boys in the early days, but he just seems very ordinary as of late. He had no exuses this race and i would like to see the old micheal back. The car he has is the same as Nico's car. I really hope schumacher dosent end up like jacques villeneuve or David Coulthard, just a run of the middle expat. Keep the faith!

Yep, i've got to agree with Rubens. The old MS would have had Sutil for breakfast, only for him to close the door on MS and keep his position. Shocking what has become of the old, agressive and fantastically fast MS. I'm no longer holding my breath for him in 2010.
