Sebastian Vettel topped the final practice session for the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim as times tumbled on a drying circuit.
Rain had arrived as the session got underway but the circuit soon started to dry out with lap times dropping quickly as a result. The quickest times came in the closing minutes, with Vettel's best time of 1min 15.103secs arrived at the end of the session to put him ahead of team-mate Mark Webber.
Red Bull were prevented from taking a 1-2 on the times as Fernando Alonso managed to split the pair in second place, two-tenths of a second down, with Webber third ahead of Felipe Massa.
Nico Rosberg was fifth quickest and the final driver within a second of the quickest time, while Lewis Hamilton was the quickest of the two McLaren drivers with the sixth quickest time.
Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Robert Kubica and Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top ten.
Schumacher was one of the drivers to be caught out by the conditions early on when he ran wide at turn six, while Pedro de la Rosa's Sauber also had a wild moment across the grass after hitting a damp patach on track.
Adrian Sutil failed to set a time after a driveshaft problem forced him to coast slowly back to the pits at the wheel of his Force India, while separate mechanical issues meant that Virgin duo Lucas di Grassi and Timo Glock were unable to turn laps when the circuit was at its best.
