Villeneuve annoyed by team leak

9 August 2010

Jacques Villeneuve has revealed his annoyance at the news that his planned entry into the 2011 F1 season was leaked ahead of schedule.

The former title winner has gone into partnership with former GP2 team Durango in an effort to secure a place on the grid, with the collaboration up against the likes of Epsilon Euskadi and Stefan GP in the race to replace USF1 on the grid.

The news that Villeneuve is involved with the Durango bid has seen it become the focus of much attention and the Canadian said he was annoyed that the plans had been put into the public domain ahead of schedule.

"I have no idea who or what we are fighting against," he told the German publication Auto Bild. "Everything was kept quiet and we were happy with that.

"Someone who is not even part of the project then decided to talk about it. That was a bit annoying. Even I can't say anything about it at the moment because we don't have all the facts."
