Schumacher: Belgian GP will difficult due to penalty

Mercedes man Michael Schumacher is looking forward to going to Spa to race at his 'favourite' racetrack, even though he will be up against it and on the back-foot after being penalised for 'illegitimately impeding' Rubens Barrichello in Hungary.
Record breaking multiple F1 world champion Michael Schumacher has said he will try to 'make the best' of the F1 2010 Belgian Grand Prix next weekend, even though he will be 'handicapped' by a ten-place grid penalty.

Schumacher was penalised after the last race in Budapest for 'illegitimately impeding' Rubens Barrichello. The incident occurred in the closely stages of the Hungarian Grand Prix, when the two former Ferrari team-mates were battling for P10 and the final point.

Although Barrichello did eventually get by in his Williams, passing the German on the start-finish straight, Schumacher did not make it easy, and almost put the Brazilian into the wall.

Schumacher initially maintained there was nothing wrong with the move, but later apologised and conceded the stewards were right and that the move was 'too hard'.

He will now be keen to put that behind him and while he knows it won't be easy to get a good result, he has always gone well at Spa, making his F1 debut there in 1991 and then going on to win in 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001 and 2002.

"Spa has always been my favourite racetrack and so for that reason alone, I am really looking forward to going back and racing there. It has been ages since I have last been there," Schumacher said.

"Our weekend will obviously be handicapped though by my grid penalty and consequently it will be difficult to expect special things from the race. On the other hand however, every racing kilometre is important and welcome because we can learn from it with regards to our car. I will definitely try to make the best out of the weekend."

Mercedes boss Norbert Haug meanwhile concurs that the trip to Spa is eagerly anticipated and he has said the team will be aiming for 'respectable' results, after a frustrating event last time out and one in which they failed to score a single point for the first time this year.

"Spa is a classic race in the F1 season and I am sure everybody in the paddock as well as the media and the spectators worldwide are looking forward to this special Grand Prix which is run partly on narrow public roads that are used for daily traffic throughout the year. Our team will be focused on achieving respectable results," he confirmed.

Look at the bright side Mikey.. you will be able to pass HRT,Virgin and Lotus. That will be more passing than you have done the entire year. Could be your first exciting race of the season. And if you get near Ruben's backside, don't expect any favors.

Lets face it Schumachers been the number 1 hatefest for fans all year, most of whom wanted him to fail so they could say i told you so. Warwick just wanted to get his name in the papers again as being the man who nearly black flagged Michael Schumacher. Warwick = useless driver, useless steward. like bergher said what schuey did to ruby was nothing unusual in the 80's and 90's,todays driver just cry about it because there big girls. GO SCHUEY.
