Kimi Raikkonen has admitted that it is unlikely that he will return to the F1 grid in future.

Raikkonen switched to the World Rally Championship this season after being released from his contract with Ferrari a year early.

Despite that move, rumours have persisted that the Finn could make a quick return to F1 having been linked to roles with the likes of Renault, Pirelli and Red Bull - who back his WRC campaign with the Citroen Junior Team.

However, in an interview with the French sports newspaper L'Equipe, Raikkonen appeared to end talk of a return by admitting it was unlikely that he will switch back to single-seaters.

"You never know, but I will probably not return to Formula 1," he said. "I became the F1 world champion, which I had always wanted to do, but times have changed.

"I do rallying now and there is far more to life than F1."
