Renault plays down return rumours

Renault plays down talk it is looking to buy back the stake in its F1 team sold to Genii Capital
Renault has played down talk that it is looking to buy back control of the Enstone-based F1 team that carries its name.

Renault sold a majority holding in the team to the Genii Capital group last year, with the economic downturn and the fall-out from the Singapore GP scandal playing a part in its decision to bring new investors into the team.

Speculation had however suggested that Renault was now considering the possibility of buying back the team from Genii [See separate story HERE] but the French manufacturer has denied that is the case – through a series of posts on its official F1 Twitter account…

“Rumour mill in overdrive with some creative stories on the web,” the first message read. “For the record, Renault are very happy with the Genii partnership, great visibility and good relationship. No plans to change.”

Renault also used the same method to scoff at rumours that Ferrari's Felipe Massa was being chased as a possible replacement for Robert Kubica for 2011, with the pair swapping seats.

“Has anybody seen Robert and Felipe standing next to each other?” a post read. “I'm not sure they'd fit in each other's seats if they swapped.”

Whenever Robert does well in a race rumours start. If there is nothing negative to say about him or Renault something will be invented. Is it the opposition trying to unsettle the team? McL does a lot of that against RBR!

the post is correct, they could not swap seats, Robert is tall and skinny, massa is short and fat. Right Massa? Massa- For sure for sure!
