Question marks raised over Hulkenberg future

Rubens Barrichello questions the future of Williams team-mate Nico Hulkenberg
Question marks have been raised over the future of Nico Hulkenberg after Williams team-mate Rubens Barrichello revealed that the team is 'analysing the situation' with the rookie driver.

Hulkenberg joined the team at the start of the year as the reigning GP2 champion and after a difficult start to the campaign, has managed to secure four top ten finishes – three of which have come in the last five rounds.

The German is widely regarded as one of the potential stars of the future but Barrichello appeared to reveal that his team-mate's future with the Grove-based team isn't yet secure for next year, with a final decision still to be taken on whether he will retain his seat.

“My part is done, all that is left is the papers to make it confirmed,” he told the Brazilian publication Globe Esporte. “That I will be with Williams in 2011 is 100 per cent.

“On my side I think it was an easier decision. They [Williams] are waiting. I think they are analysing the Nico Hulkenberg situation in order to do an announcement together for next season.”

Despite Barrichello's comments, the likelihood is that Williams will field an unchanged line-up for the 2011 season.

Hulkenberg is nearly as fast as or sometimes faster than Rubens, that is a very good show for a rookie. He is going to improve next year, Rubens will not. He deserves another F1 year.

rob01 - maybe you need to re-watch the Hungary incident. Michael made one move to defend. Weaving implies that he made multiple moves. If you want to see what weaving is look at Lewis on the front straight in Malaysia this year. Alonso beating MS in a Renault is clearly when the cape came off. You could see by the way that the entire field turned on him in the Monaco "parking" incident that it was well and truly off before he retired. Any other driver would have been given the benefit of doubt.
