Alonso wins in Singapore

Fernando Alonso wins in Singapore and finishes ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso came through to take his second race win on the trot today at the F1 2010 Singapore Grand Prix.

Alonso, who started from pole, led from the off and bar for when he stopped to change tyres, he led throughout, although he was never more than three seconds or so ahead of Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel. Indeed on the final lap Vettel closed right up, but the Spaniard held on to take the victory.

Mark Webber claimed the final place on the podium to give Red Bull a 2-3 finish, despite a racing incident with Lewis Hamilton on lap 36, which put the McLaren man out.

Hamilton's team-mate Jenson Button was fourth, finishing just behind Webber, while Nico Rosberg and Rubens Barrichello were fifth and sixth respectively for Mercedes and Williams.

Renault number one driver, Robert Kubica took seventh, charging back up the order in the final few laps after he had to make an extra stop due to a right rear puncture. Force India's Adrian Sutil rounded out the top eight, with the final points going to Nico Hulkenberg and Felipe Massa.
