Trio earn Ferrari test

The top three from the Italian F3 championship secure the chance to test for the Ferrari F1 team
Cesar Ramos, Stephane Richelmi and Andrea Caldarelli have secured an F1 test with Ferrari following the final rounds of the Italian Formula 3 Championship.

The trio secured the test after filling the top three places in the championship and will now get the chance to sample F1 machinery as a result.

Ramos wrapped up the title with victory in the final round of the year and said he was excited at the prospect of his Ferrari test.

"Team BVM -Target worked perfectly throughout the season and I have to thank all the men of the team,” he said. “Thanks to their work I always had a competitive car. Winning an extremely tight championship is hugely satisfying and I can soon add that the chance to test the Ferrari Formula One car.”

F3 veteran Richelmi ended the season twelve points behind in second place and he admitted it was important to make the most of his F1 opportunity.

“This has been anyway my best season and now I have the test with Ferrari,” he said, “certainly an important chance and almost unique."

Caldarelli meanwhile beat Daniel Mancinelli third place thanks to a podium in the opening race of the final rounds at Monza.

"I'm glad I've clinched third place in standings, as well as the test with Ferrari which was my minimum goal for this season,” he said. “The title was a realistic aim too, but many external factors compromised the consistency of my results.

“Prema Powerteam did a great job for me and I'm eager to express my full potential during the test I'll be running with the Formula 1 Ferrari."
