There has been fresh speculation in recent days that Hispania Racing has purchased the assets of the former Toyota F1 team.

Reports in Auto Motor und Sport state that 'reliable sources' indicate that the Spanish team has done a deal to buy all the 'expertise, equipment and facilities' of the Cologne-based operation relating to the unraced TF110. The theory goes that this explains why Pirelli has had to use Toyota's 2009 F1 car for its tyre test programme.

However if it all sounds familiar, it is because a very similar rumour broke back in the summer [see separate story - click here]. Then it was claimed a deal was imminent and would be signed within a matter of days - that though was in July, more than three months ago...
