As rumoured for several weeks, Red Bull
Junior driver Daniel Ricciardo will drive the 2010 constructors' championship-winning RB6 at next week's 'young driver' test in Abu Dhabi.
Runner-up in this year's World Series by Renault, the Australian has been with the Red Bull
Junior Team since 2008 and has been the F1 team's reserve driver throughout 2010. He is already in Abu Dhabi ahead of this weekend's grand prix.
“I can't wait to get another crack at driving Red Bull
Racing's amazing F1 car," he admitted, "I've been hanging out with the team and drivers all year at the races and it's made my urge to drive the car again even stronger – if that was possible!
"It's a year since I last drove the car [at last year's young driver test] and I really want to make the most of the two days.”
Ricciardo's confirmation adds another name to the rapidly filling list of participants, already swollen this week with the announcements that Jean-Eric Vergne (Toro Rosso), Jules Bianchi
(Ferrari) and both Yelmer Buurman and Antonio Felix da Costa (Force India) will run on 16-17 November.
